Bulls are responsible for 80 percent to 90 percent of the genetic improvement in
the cow herd, and thus, heavily influence the quality and uniformity of the calf
crop. However, once bulls are used there is usually little measurement of their
individual performance in a multisire commercial environment.
Now, with IGENITY Multisire Parentage, you can identify sires of calves — even
in multisire settings.
IGENITY has many applications for the commercial producer, including:
- Determining the most likely sire of each calf
- Identifying bulls that sire the most or fewest calves
- Identifying most likely sires of best- and worst-performing calves
- Calculating within-herd EPDs on traits of interest
